About

My first trans-Australian road trip was when I was 6 months old and from there the travel bug grew, growing with me. By the time I was 15 I was lucky enough to have seen most of Australia. I grew up playing on salt lakes, climbing red sand dunes in the desert, digging for witchetty grubs, foraging bush foods and being the spotty (holding the spotlight) for my Dad and Uncles when they went shooting, hunting for meat for the freezer.

I was enamoured with old trucks and cars, passing time on the Nullarbor trips with a screwdriver in hand, collecting parts and badges from wrecks dotted and piled throughout the salt bush of those desert plains. Then, at 15, I discovered the aural and visual bliss that was (is?) Bruce Springsteen. His fine, denim clad, ‘Born In The U.S.A.’ ass and his ‘Darkness On The Edge Of Town’ sultry stare were plastered over all my school books (was that just an 80’s/90’s thing, covering books with bands and movie crushes?)... My love of America was pretty much cemented.

Finally, I bought a ticket and made my way to the U.S. where I’ve lived on and off for the past 5 years, mostly in Texas and Nevada, exploring the beautiful desert regions in between. My Zen is getting in the truck, putting on some fine tunes and hitting the road. I guess this store is a culmination of all those travels, my art & photography and a love of things that are made to last. Things that are rugged enough to have stories in their dents and patina, sags and worn patches and still keep on going. This is a curated hotch-potch, a wunderkammer of sorts. I hope you enjoy! Happy travels, Amanda
